One of the things I know so many Guests appreciate about Disney's exceptional service is how they are
able to accommodate so many dietary needs. From gluten-free options to the typical allergens, and even low sodium and other medically or culturally necessary diets, it's reassuring to know that in many
dining locations these needs can be met.
Now, unfortunately, when it comes to quick-service or fast-casual locations - which include the ice cream stations - special dietary needs are unable to be accommodated due to limited and shared food preparation space onboard these areas on the ships. But don't despair! In the main dining rooms, most dietary needs can be met, and there are usually multiple options!
It's also important to remember that allergy-friendly offerings are reliant on supplier ingredient labels, and just like at the supermarket, products labeled with advisory statements like "may contain" are not regulated and therefore not taken into consideration when developing allergy-friendly meals. It is ultimately up to your discretion to make an informed choice based upon their individual dietary needs. For any allergies that are life-threatening or severe, Disney Cruise Line suggests notifying the Special Services team at 407-566-3602 as soon as possible, prior to your cruise!
I wish that Disney Cruise Line carried a lactose-free soft serve, Kendra, but I'm sorry to say that you may have to miss out on this offering. But on the bright side, that leaves more room for extra helpings of a lactose-free dessert at your dinner rotations!
