Hello, David!
Welcome to planDisney. I am glad you sent us your question about air transportation! My family does not live near the ocean (sadly...it is still on my bucket list!), and we normally fly to our departure ports. We always fly in the day before our sailing date just in case there are any travel snafus. I would hate to miss our cruise!
Guests sailing on the Disney Cruise Line have a few different options for airplane transportation. The
Disney Cruise Line Air Program has Flexible Fares and Restricted Fares. Flexible Fares allow Guests the ability to customize their flight schedule and have extended payment and cancellation options. This is the most "flexible" choice. Restricted Fares are the best available, airline-published rates and are non-refundable. Payment for Restricted Fares are due at the time of booking. Call
Disney Cruise Line or your Travel Agent learn about flight options for your specific cruise and to book any flights.
My family prefers to book our flights ourselves. I like having complete control over the flight itinerary, including the ability to make changes if a better flight option becomes available. When completing the online check-in process for your cruise, you will be asked to enter your flight information even if you book your flights on your own. Just make sure to check the
recommended arrival and departure times for your itinerary. You don't want to land too late or depart too early!
Once your flights are figured out, I recommend downloading the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app. It is a very helpful app that can be used before and during your cruise!
Port Adventures and Onboard Experiences can be booked on the app during your
booking window. While you are onboard your Disney Cruise, you can also check entertainment schedules, view
rotational dining information, and communicate with family members sailing with you. It is a great tool!
David, have a wonderful voyage aboard the Disney Cruise Line! We hope to see you real soon!
Happy sailing!
Jen
