Ahoy Stacey!
Bravo for setting your binoculars on an Alaska cruise! So far, our Alaskan itinerary has been our number one cruise destination as a family. Then again, it’s hard to beat seeing glaciers float by your stateroom window and icebergs with seals on them.
Captain Mickey has already released the
Alaska itineraries for 2022 and they are all set to depart from and return to Vancouver, Canada. Yes, I know that at one point last year there were rumors of how Seattle might be considered as an alternate port, but clearly that did not come to fruition. Now that U.S. citizens are able to travel to Canada, I believe that the Summer 2022 season for Alaskan voyages will be able to resume with Vancouver as the one and only port.
Since they set sail from Canada, the Alaska itineraries require that ALL Guests (including children) must have a
valid U.S. passport. So if you don’t have one, now is the time to order a passport. I just went through this process with my son as his passport had expired. He’s very happy he doesn’t have to cruise now with a photo of him that’s 6 years old!
Believe me,
Vancouver is so worth the extra time if you can work it into your schedule. It’s quite a remarkable destination. We had such a fun day exploring Stanley Park, touring the Vancouver Aquarium (they have the most adorable otters ever), and walking around the waterfront the day before our cruise. Most Guests plan to arrive the day before their sailing to ensure that travel delays won’t prevent them from getting on the ship, so why not use that time to do some sightseeing in the city?
Alright Stacey, please be sure to stop back by planDisney and let me know whether you are Alaska bound or not. I would love to share with you more information about our WONDERful experiences there.
Bon Voyage!
Sherry
