Welcome to planDisney, Ericka! I'm glad that you sailed by to visit us before you sail away on your
Disney Cruise Line vacation, especially with this important question about
travel documentation.
Even though you are sailing on a closed-loop cruise, meaning it begins and ends at the same US port, US citizens, including children, need to produce an original valid US passport or original state-issued birth certificate at the port when you check-in. For Guests 16 years of age and older who have their original state-issued birth certificate, a physical government-issued photo ID is also required. Digital/mobile state-issued IDs are not acceptable to sail.
For online check-in, your headshot is ok if the background is blank. If you wear glasses, you will need to upload a photo with your glasses off. Each person in your traveling party will need their own photo with one person in the photo at a time. When it is time to check-in, I like to have the digital copies of my documentation saved to one folder on my computer for easy access. You will also need the payment source for the onboard account, address, contact information, emergency contact information, and travel plans before and after the cruise for every member of your traveling party.
Ericka, if you have any other questions before you push off to the Caribbean, come back to
planDisney. We are always happy to answer your questions.
Bon Voyage!
