Going on a Disney Cruise in April 2023 and looking to go snorkeling in Cabo. . Are wetsuits available because I read the water is coldest in April. I'd hate to pay for a snorkeling and the water is freezing! -Thanks

    Hi Cheryl,

Welcome back to planDisney, it’s so wonderful to see you here again! I hope these years have been full of fun and special Disney memories for you.

There’s nothing like a Disney Cruise Line vacation, and a voyage to sunny Cabo San Lucas, Mexico sounds like the perfect springtime escape. My family really enjoys snorkeling, and we plan a Port Adventure around this favorite activity nearly every cruise. I love to clear my mind while focusing on my breath, watching the mesmerizing life under the sea as we float and swim along.

I spoke to a helpful Crew Member today to get some more details for you regarding wetsuits, as I also hear the water can be quite cold that time of year despite the lower latitude. Disney Cruise Line does not provide wetsuits for use (either onboard or for Port Adventures) but you are welcome to pack your own, as it’s not a prohibited item. I understand not wanting the expense and suitcase space of a wetsuit for one day though, if you don’t already own one.

I reviewed the Port Adventures that offer snorkeling in this port of call, and they all detail providing a vest, snorkel gear, and fins but none specify that wetsuits are provided. The friendly Crew Member advised that you may call the Disney Cruise Line Website Resolution Team Monday - Friday, 8:00 am to 10:00 pm or Saturday - Sunday, 9:00 am to 8:00 pm (ET). Please call Disney Cruise Line and listen for the website option on the phone line. This specialty team can view your cruise reservation, look into specific Port Adventures, and assist you with the exact details on equipment.

Please know that any Port Adventure may be cancelled at any time by the tour operator due to weather, including unsafe water temperatures for snorkeling.

I hope you’re able to enjoy the Port Adventure desired, Cheryl. If the risks of being uncomfortable aren’t balanced with the cost, I know you’ll find something exciting to do together in Cabo San Lucas that will make for a practically perfect port day!

Please don’t be a stranger here at planDisney; we’d love to help you make the most of your cruise line, or any Disney destination, vacation!

    "Seas” the day!
