Ahoy there, Myeisha! Welcome to planDisney and welcome aboard
Disney Cruise Line!
I am glad you stopped by to ask about the
required travel documents before arriving at the port and potentially being surprised. Mickey has some powerful magic with his imagination, but U.S. Customs has its own formidable power.
For round-trip sailings departing from the United States, Guests using a birth certificate as proof of citizenship must present an original state-issued document. Photocopies are no longer allowed. Guests 16 years and older must also present physical government-issued photo identification. I've asked Disney Cruise Line Cast Members if temporary paper identification issued by the government will work. As each state has different processes and cards, I was told you will need to contact the Embarkation Guest Services team to check the specific information on your teen's identification. Have the card with you when you call so they can review it and give you a definitive answer. These Cast Members are available Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Eastern. To reach them, call (800) 395-9374 and select option 1.
I have my fingers crossed that the permanent card arrives. Even if the one you have will suffice, I know there is always just a level of worry. I want your cruise to have a worry-free philosophy. Hakuna Matata!
