Hi there, Nathan! Welcome to planDisney! We are so happy to have you here in our magical corner of the internet. Our favorite thing to do is help fellow Guests plan their visits to the Happiest Place on Earth, so let's see what we can do for you today!
It sounds like you have a balance on a
Disney Gift Card and would like to use it towards purchasing some new park tickets. Hope I got that right! Gift cards are a great way to budget for a visit to the
Disneyland Resort, and they can absolutely be used towards the purchase of theme park tickets!
Once you have selected which
ticket type and how many tickets you are planning to purchase on the Disneyland website, continue through the checkout process until you get to the "Payment Info" section. You will see a box right at the top that says "Use a Disney Gift Card". Check the box and enter the gift card number and EAN (Extended Account Number). If you are unsure where to find this number, hover over the "i" in the circle icon and a pop-up will appear with instructions. If your gift card does not cover the entire balance, you will be asked to enter a regular credit card as well which will be charged for the remainder of the payment. You'll have tickets ready to go faster than you can say Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo!
While it may seem like August is a long way out, we are on Disney time here and it's always best to book early! In the process of purchasing your tickets, you will be asked to make a
theme park reservation where you decide which park to visit on which day. If you are purchasing Park Hopper tickets, you will choose where to start your day with hopping available between 1 p.m. and park closing. While tickets are non-refundable, reservations are can be canceled and rescheduled. They are also subject to availability, and there are times of the year when reservations can be challenging to secure. If I can step into the role of your planning Fairy Godmother here, I recommend purchasing those tickets as soon as you feel good about your dates to avoid any limited reservation availability.
Another date for your calendar to make note of is that
dining reservations open up 60 days out. While I always love to have a sit-down lunch on the books to get a little break from the sun and that park energy, there are also some really exciting packages that have just been released that include preferred seating for some of the best nighttime spectaculars around -
World of Color Dessert Party, the Main Street Electrical Parade
Plaza Inn Dining Package, and the Fantasmic! Dining Packages at both the
Hungry Bear Restaurant and
River Belle Terrace. I don't know about you, but sometimes I just love to know that I will have a great view of some nighttime magic without having to worry about staking out a seat a few hours ahead of time. If it comes with delicious food and treats too, that sounds like a dream to me!
Nathan, I hope this was helpful and that I interpreted your question correctly. If you have any follow-up questions, feel free to reach out to me directly. We are always here for you at
planDisney!
Magic awaits!
