Welcome to planDisney, Michelle! Thanks for stopping by today with your question; I'm happy to make the bag policy more clear for you - let's dive right in!
Michelle, the Walt Disney World Resort does not operate with a clear bag policy. Guests are welcome to bring in any type of suitable bag for carrying and storing items while visiting the park, as long as it meets the size limits outlined in the
Walt Disney World Property Rules. For reference, the bag size should not exceed 24" long x 15" wide x 18" high. I've taken everything from a small belt bag to a full-size backpack into the theme parks without worry. If you do carry a bag, I'll offer you a few additional tips that might be helpful:
- Most attractions are bag-friendly, but when riding TRON Lightcycle/Run, you will be asked to store your bag and any other personal items in a complimentary locker as you enter the attraction queue. Kali River Rapids in Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park also offers complimentary lockers across from the attraction entrance on a first-come, first-serve basis if you are worried about your bag or its contents getting wet.
- If you'd like to store your bag during your visit, Locker Rentals are available at each of the theme parks for a fee.
- When entering the parks with a bag, you are subject to bag searches at the security checkpoints. The guards will let you know if you need to stop for a bag check or if you can proceed directly through the security checkpoint to enter the park.
Michelle, I hope this helps! If you have any other planning questions as you prepare for your visit to the Most Magical Place on Earth, come on back to
