HI, We are going to Disney to celebrate a "nontraditional" event. After five years of treatment, I was declared CURED and discharged from the Dana Farber Cancer institute in Boston. Is this somrthing we can celebrate?

    Hi Anne,

What wonderful news!  This is something that you SHOULD celebrate, and Walt Disney World is the perfect place to do it!

There are plenty of ways that you can celebrate your personal triumph, here are a few of my suggestions:

    • California Grill - For a truly magical and special meal, try dining high atop Disney's Contemporary Resort....but before you make your reservation check the calendar to see what time Wishes fireworks are being performed that evening.  Let the reservation agent know that you would like your meal to coincide with the Wishes spectacular.  To add a little extra to your meal you could custom order a custom specialty cake, simply call 407-827-2253.
    • Photo Session -  PhotoPass Portrait Photographers can customize your personal photo session.  You have dozens of beautiful photos taken using our picturesque resorts as a backdrop.  For more information or to book your session call 407-934-4004.
    • Adventure - If you're looking for a little adventure to add to your celebration, I highly recommend the Segway tour.  Although I was a bit nervous at first, it really comes natural to operate these transporters.
    • Serenity - If you're looking for something a bit slower paced, with a lot of pampering I would book yourself a spa treatment at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa it is the ultimate in relaxation, in the middle of all the fun!

However you choose to celebrate, make sure you pick up your free celebration recognition button in any of the theme parks.  You certainly deserve to wear it proudly!

Hope this helps, have a magical trip!
