Welcome, Tabatha!
Thanks for coming to planDisney for clarification on payment methods throughout the
Walt Disney World Resort! I’m excited to see that you’re arriving any day now to the Most Magical Place on Earth, so let’s get right to your question.
My money maven Scrooge McDuck and I are pleased to share that
yes, cash is still accepted at most locations throughout the Walt Disney World Resort. This includes all four theme parks,
Disney Resort Collection hotels,
dining locations, and
Disney Springs. Unfortunately, there is some misinformation floating around as I also read online that Disney is cashless but that is definitely not true. Please be sure to continue to use official sources as you’ve done by
asking planDisney, checking out the official
Walt Disney World Resort website, or following the
Disney Parks Blog for the latest news and information. You are welcome to use cash throughout your vacation.
Please note that some kiosks and carts may have an attendant who doesn’t accept cash based on their available technology and space limitations of the moveable location. However, if you have a purchase to make, they can direct you to the nearest location for a cash transaction.
There are many ATMs located throughout the property for your convenience and safety so that you don’t have to carry too much cash at any one time, Tabatha. On the
My Disney Experience App, click the magnifying glass icon in the bottom tray and search for “ATM.” You’ll find a handy map of many 24-hour ATM locations at the Walt Disney World Resort.
Don’t forget to save some coins to toss into the Cinderella fountain just behind
Cinderella Castle as you enter Fantasyland – I hear it’s a magical place where all your dreams can come true! Find this beautiful statue of our humble princess at the fountain just across from Sir Mickey’s shop.
Please let us know if you have any further questions, we’d love to help! If you’re already on site when you read this, you can get additional information from a friendly Cast Member throughout your vacation. Stop by the

Wishing you a magical vacation,
Amy
