Ahoy Yadit, and thank you for stopping by planDisney!
I'm so glad you came to us with this question, because it's one I'm sure a lot of people have and don't remember to ask about! While I'm sure nobody particularly enjoys thinking about the END of their vacation before it even begins - especially with all that's
included in a Disney Cruise Line vacation - being prepared to make the trip home smooth sailing is always a worthwhile part of planning!
I know I'm personally still mourning the end of Disney's Magical Express bus service to and from Orlando International Airport for Walt Disney World vacations - but as a Disney Cruise Line specialist I'm happy to report from the bridge that there's a silver lining to that storm cloud!
When it comes to Disney Cruise Line, for most itineraries and ports of departure, there is the option of adding official
Disney Ground Transportation to your cruise! Pricing, timing and other details vary depending on which of the incredible ports you are sailing out of, but in each case, you still get the peace-of-mind that comes with booking directly with Disney Cruise Line. If you will be arranging your own air travel, I strongly suggest you review the flight scheduling information for your departure port on the Ground Transportation page! There, you'll find the suggested earliest flight times that take into account any potential delays you may experience during disembarkation.
The option to add Ground Transportation to your booking can be found during the checkout process, but if you've already booked your vacation and did not add port transfers, don't worry! You can double-check the selections you've made in the
"My Reservations" section of the "Already Booked" menu. If you would like to add Ground Transportation, you can
contact Disney Cruise Line and a crew member will be happy to help you set up transfers from the airport to the port, from the port to the airport or both!
My family and I always purchase the ground transfers both ways, but again, depending on your itinerary, you can purchase just the transfers you need.
Since we usually cruise out of Port Canaveral, our trips back to the airport - although they're the saddest part of our vacation - are made a bit better with the ride on Disney Cruise Line buses featuring fun artwork of Disney characters and a video presentation I can probably quote word-for-word at this point! When we disembark the ship, crew members are there every step of the way to ensure we get on the correct vehicle and are safely on our way. It makes saying "See Ya Real Soon" to the ships just a bit easier.
Yadhit, I hope that helped you chart the right course for the end of your vacation, but until that time I hope you and your crew have a Magical time on your vacation!
Whichever airport your post-cruise plans take you through on your way home, I wish you and your crew safe travels!
Andrew
