    In Disney begin Jan 27. Doing IOA Thurs, Jan 31, with late dinner at Chef Mickeys (8 pm). Have vehicle. What time leave Universal to make dinner reservs. Would like to stop at AOA to change clothes but could skip that if needed. Directs helpful!

    Hi Vicki,

    Well, if you feel you absolutely have to go to Universal (just kidding), its easy to get to Disney from there.  Follow I-4 West towards Tampa. Take the Downtown Disney exit and follow the signs towards Magic Kingdom.  It will be clearly marked and you should have no problems.

    When you get to the Magic Kingdom Parking Plaza, get in the far right lane being careful not to get in the bus lane.  Tell the Cast Member you are going to the Contemporary & you will not be required to pay a parking fee like you would if you were going to Magic Kingdom.  If you have your parking permit on your dash from the Art of Animation Resort they will waive you through with no questions.  Go to the right instead of the left which would take you to the Magic Kingdom parking lot. Stay straight until you see the Contemporary Resort. The entrance will be on the right. 

    Once you reach the Guard Station at the Contemporary, you'll need to have a photo ID ready.  Tell Security Officer you have a dinner reservation at Chef Mickey's and they will direct you to visitor parking.

    January 31st is a Thursday so you may hit some local traffic on I-4 of people heading home from work.  If you are going straight to Chef Mickey's, I would make sure I was leaving the parking deck of Universal no later than 6:45 p.m.  If you plan to stop by Art of Animation to change, I'd leave at 6:00 p.m.  You could also bring fresh shirts to change into just in case you're running late.
