It looks like you're getting ready to embark on a
5-Night Western Caribbean Cruise from Fort Lauderdale with Marvel Day at Sea, with just a few weeks to go before you experience the excitement on board! Over the past year, we observed the
rollout of DisneyBand+ that began on the Disney Wish before beginning to gradually spread across the fleet and you'll be happy to hear that these have been available on the
Disney Dream for about a month now, beginning on November 20, 2023.
Being among the first teams to test out and implement wearable technology like this on board Disney Cruise Line a decade ago, it was so nice to be able to give
my own DisneyBand+ a spin on my cruises this year. Now through my observations, it was nice to see how much these were integrated into the entertainment and reacted to the happenings around us at key moments; this month we experienced a seamless experience accessing our stateroom as well as onboard experiences and only used our Key To The World card whenever we wanted to disembark the ship. As with any new technology there's always a chance for hiccups along the way, so don't hesitate to stop by the
Guest Services Desk - I watched as a number of guests hadn't been aware that they needed to not only charge their DisneyBand+ fully or download an update to their
Disney Cruise Line Navigator App in order to successfully link it to their account, but the Crew Members were able to help them out.
That said, I also had a chance to speak with a number of
Castaway Club members who cruise frequently who still preferred to wear their cards on a lanyard in order to display their loyalty level as seasoned seafarers - for the folks who find this very important, they're hoping for more DisneyBand+ options in the future with which to show their very special status on board! (On my most recent sailing just two weeks ago they had already run out of one of the exclusive designs on board, so it's always a good idea to see whether you can pre-order your DisneyBand+ prior to your voyage.)
