Hi Moms! Going to Disney August 1-6th. My nephew will be turning 10 on the 5th. For the Disney dining, will we have to get him a child or adult plan? Thanks!!!!

    Welcome back, Mark!

No one ages during a Walt Disney World Resort vacation! (My Disney Parks trips really do keep me young!) So even though your son will be turning 10 years old during your trip, he will be 9 years old at the time of the start of your trip and his reservation does not change for the duration of your vacation. That means that you will save a little bit of money on his theme park tickets as he will be able to use child tickets for the trip and he will receive a child dining plan. Be sure his age is set correctly in My Disney Experience to reflect that he is 9 years old as that will determine how the dining plan is applied.

Even though he will be considered 9 years old for reservation purposes, you will still be able to have a phenomenal celebration for him during your trip! Be sure to include on your hotel reservation that you are celebrating his birthday during your trip and they will give him a complimentary birthday button at check-in. And if you would like to celebrate his birthday at any of your meals, you can add his birthday celebration to your dining reservation by calling (407) WDW-DINE or (407) 939-3463.

Let us know if you have any more questions as you continue to plan your trip! T-T-F-N, ta ta for now!
