Hello! We will be in Disney in August and my husband is Lactose intolerant we will be staying at PoP century, do they have lactaid milk available? also if wanting waffles from the food court would the chef be able to make waffles or anything with lactaid?

    Hi Natalia,

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Your Walt Disney World Vacation will be here before you know it, and you are going to have a groovy time staying at Disney’s Pop Century Resort!

Natalia, the Special Diets Team at Walt Disney World Resort truly care about making sure that Guests with special dietary needs can enjoy their magical vacations without worrying about what to eat. Please contact them at (407) 939-4363 or email Special.Diets@DisneyWorld.com to ask about lactose-free options. They will be able to help you make sure you have the information you need, and can help add dietary requests to any dining reservations you may have.

I think I have seen Lactaid in the resort refrigerated cases, but I checked some recent photos and, while I see almond and soy milk, I don’t see Lactaid. My recommendation is to stop by Everything Pop Shopping and Dining when you check in and ask to speak to a chef. The chef can let you know if they have any Lactaid in stock (sometimes it’s in the back) and can offer you options for dining there. If you absolutely must have a certain brand, I recommend ordering some to your resort using Garden Grocer or another grocery delivery service, or bringing it with you if you’ll be driving.

When it comes to preparing lactose-free meals – and specifically those iconic Mickey waffles – be sure to talk to the chef. I’ve seen dairy-free French Toast, Pancakes, and Pop Waffles on the allergy-friendly breakfast menu in the past, but I can’t guarantee current availability. The chef will be happy to talk to your husband and prepare something he will be able to eat and enjoy.

Enjoy your time at Disney’s Pop Century Resort, Natalia – it’s a super-fun blast from the pixie-dusted past!

    Wishing you a magical vacation,
    Robyn
