we are going to Disney in August. My grandaughter is 8 and grandson 3 what do you recommend for character meals that might please both?

    Hi Julie,

I think your best bet is to stick with character meals that feature characters that are part of the "Fab 5": Minnie, Mickey, Donald, Goofy & Pluto.  Not all characters are available at every restaurant, but there are several character dining experiences that feature at least 3 of these characters.

Chef Mickey's is a very popular choice, and for good reason!  First of all, it's located in the Contemporary with the monorail zooming overhead -- that's just cool.  There are several characters and the food is great as well.  Reservations for this restaurant fill up quickly, so call right at 180 days before your vacation.

If you can't get Chef Mickey's, don't worry.  Tusker House at Animal Kingdom has a great breakfast with Safari Mickey, Donald & Goofy.  Another family favorite is Garden Grill in Epcot.  The restaurant rotates, so the scenery changes.  Farmer Mickey, Pluto, Chip & Dale all visit your table while you dine, and some of the food is even grown on property.

Hope this helps.  Have a magical vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Diane, Georgia

After spending 25 years in RI, my husband and I relocated to GA with our youngest, who is now in high school. I took my first trip to Walt Disney World when I was 11 and I have traveled many times since then with all different party sizes. From creating our first itinerary as a honeymooner to later creating magical experiences for our multigenerational family gatherings, every aspect of planning a vacation has been pure joy to me.  Learn More About Diane
