While at Disney in Aug., one of my DDs will turn 23. Epcot is her fave park, so have dinner reservation at Le Cellier for her bday celebration. will they recognize her bday there if asked? What about the dessert party at epcot? Any other suggestions?

    Hi Tammy!

Celebrating a birthday at Walt Disney World is the best!  Definitely let the hostess know that it is your daughter's birthday.  Most restaurants bring out a complimentary birthday cupcake.  If you want a little extra surprise, consider ordering a custom cake to be brought to your table.  The pastry chefs are very creative and make some incredibly delicious desserts.  I surprised my husband with a replica of our wedding cake at Le Cellier a couple of years ago.  It was amazing!  And we always order custom cakes when we celebrate our kid's birthdays at Walt Disney World.  For options and some cake photos, search for "specialty cakes" on the Disney Food Blog website.

The Illuminations Sparkling Dessert Party is a fantastic way to celebrate!  Illuminations is one of my favorite shows, so combining it with sweets and wine is a great pairing.  The view from the party location is wonderful and since it's private to party people only, you get some breathing room to enjoy the show.

Be sure to pick up a complimentary birthday button at any Guest Relations location or your Walt Disney World Resort.

    Have a magical day!
