Hiya Sean!
Welcome to planDisney, and thank you for sending us your question today! I am so glad to see that you will be visiting the Walt Disney World Resort during the Holiday season as that is by far one of my favourite times to visit. Are you going to ring in the new year at one of the theme parks? There is no better way to start the new year with some Disney fireworks, in my opinion!
Now, let's talk about your tickets and how you can organize your trip precisely to fit your needs. If you have already purchased theme park tickets and linked them to your
My Disney Experience account, you can log into your account and modify these tickets at any time before your vacation. Simply log into your My Disney Experience account and click on "My Plans." There, you will be able to select "Tickets & Memory Maker" and click on "Change Ticket" next to the ticket that you would like to extend. If you decide to change the days of your magical vacation, however, also modify your
theme park reservations! You can find your theme park reservations in the "My Plans" section and click on "Modify Reservation" when using your desktop. Then, you will be all set to make your theme park reservations for the days you intend to visit. However, if you have any issues with these steps, you can
contact a Cast Member via chat, email, or phone between 7 A.M. and 11 P.M. EST. You can also upgrade your tickets in the parks by stopping by one of the ticketing windows at the main entrance of any of the four theme parks and Disney Springs. Cast Members truly are real-life fairy godparents, and I always go to them whenever I need help!
Once your tickets and theme park reservations are settled, there are so many things that you will be able to experience on your Disney vacation! I loved ringing the New Year at EPCOT. Since we do not know exactly what the New Year celebrations will look like this year, I would recommend keeping an eye on
Disney Parks Blog or the
Walt Disney World website for any updates on this year's festivities. In the past years, the Disney parks celebrated with special New Year's Eve fireworks at Magic Kingdom Park and EPCOT and with extra special activities. For instance, both parks had several dance parties in select locations and a selection of New Year's Eve merchandise and specially-themed treats. However, if you were hoping to catch some of the Christmas magic still, don't worry! No Grinch will be stealing Christmas after the New Year. Christmas decorations typically last through the first week of January, but keep an eye out for specific dates later in the year!
I hope this was helpful, Sean, and that you and your family will have the merriest vacation ever on your next trip to the Walt Disney World Resort! If you have any other questions in the time leading up to your visit, please don't hesitate to reach out. I am always happy to talk about our traditions for that time of year!
Have a magical day,
Ariane
