Ben from England Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

Going to Disney in April and a few restaurants are detailing 'Dining Plans Are Temporarily Unavailable'. I cant seem to book these in advance, but does this meant the restaurants are closed when visiting the park?

Hello Ben, and welcome to planDisney!

I must say that it's supercalifragilisticexpialidocious for me as the current UK-based Panelist here at planDisney to have the pixie-dusted opportunity of assisting a fellow Guest who also hails from the United Kingdom!

Ben, I feel sure that you'll soon be doing the single-digit happy dance as your April travel date to Walt Disney World Resort approaches!  There's truly nothing like the zip-a-dee-doo-dah-day feeling of getting ready to set off for the most magical place on earth.

Ben, it goes without saying that making Advanced Dining Reservations for meals during your April holiday to Walt Disney World Resort really is a smart move.  In fact, dining is one of the first things my family likes to discuss once we've made our Disney holiday booking!

I'm more than happy to share that when researching dining locations online via the Walt Disney Travel Company website, Guests may come across the status "Dining Plans are Temporarily Unavailable" which is actually referring to the temporary pause of Disney Dining Plans and does not mean the closure of that particular restaurant.

Some dining locations at Walt Disney World Resort are hugely popular with Guests, and this makes them sometimes tricky (but not impossible!) to secure Advanced Dining Reservations for - such as 'Ohana or Cinderella's Royal Table for example.

Understanding this just might explain why you've experienced no current availability at some of your chosen dining locations.  My best advice would be for you to keep on trying to book, especially once you've arrived at Walt Disney World Resort - this works well as Guests really do change their plans all the time and a reservation spot might just open up for YOU!

Ben, I expect you'll already know this, but as a pixie-dusted perk Guests staying in Disney Resorts Collection hotels may begin making their Advanced Dining Reservations at 60-days ahead of check-in, PLUS for a further 10-days into their stay.

If you should have any further questions for me concerning your upcoming holibobs to Walt Disney World Resort, then please do drop back to me here at planDisney.

Have a great Disney day ~ Jane
