Hiya, Christine!
Welcome to planDisney! We're so glad that you found us hEAR!
Oh dear! I'm so sorry for this
Disney Princess Breakfast Adventures dining reservation snafu, Christine! While I'm not technically gifted at all, nor do I officially work for the head cheese himself so I cannot speak to any actual reasons why, my theory is just that the reservation booking portal - for both dining as well as
Disneyland Resort Hotel stays - is super literal. Mine is a family of three and we experience this all the time when booking our
Disney dining; it's almost as if tables, which usually come in squares and rectangles, are loaded into the system at their max capacities of four and six and 10, etc, but no one thought to program the program in how to find a table to seat odd numbers.
For your party, Christine, your best bet will be to
sEARch for and book a table meant for six. Then, at check-in, you'll be able to revise your numbers to match - and only pay for - those present. You may have read that there is a per-person no-show fee; this only applies when a whole table misses the meal and not when a single guest or two has to back out at the last minute. (Mickey and his Princess pals do understand that sometimes life happens.)
Pro Tip: If you can no longer find a table for six, aim for a table of eight. While you could also set up two reservations, with one table for four and the other for two, you'd then have the logistics of trying to get the two tables nEAR each other day of; also, each reservation would need to be under a different
My Disneyland Account as each reservation maker can only hold one booking every 90 minutes, so it's better to just stick with one table.
I hope that this answer helped to clEAR your question up, Christine, and helped to book an amazing
Character Dining Experience for you and your Mouseketeers! Be sure to follow the
