Hi! Has Disney announced if the River of Light show at AK will be year round? We will be going to DW in December and are starting to make a schedule. Thanks!!!!

Hi Mark! Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. It is so great to hear from you again!

In my opinion December is one of the best times to visit the Walt Disney World Resort! I love that there are such beautiful holiday decorations and a lot of holiday happenings; it really seems to get you in the holiday spirit! It’s also a great time to plan a visit since there are so many amazing and new attractions in the works.

There has been a bit of a delay in the start of the Nighttime entertainment and Rivers of Light show at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Whenever the Imagineers at Disney dream up new Guest experiences they are seeking out perfection. They want us Guests to be in complete awe and amazement whenever we experience these new attractions and entertainment. I think when they start testing these new things they really want their vision to come to life and if just one thing doesn’t fit then they go back to the drawing board. So in order to surpass guest expectations and keep them coming back for more they felt it best to delay the start of these new experiences for a bit.

Since the delay has been announced no other details have been given on the timeline for release of this show and what to expect in terms of hours or scheduling. I highly suggest that you follow the Disney Parks Blog for all of the latest news and announcements! As soon as more details are available they will be the first to release them!

I hope that you have a magical time in December!
