    When will Disney announce dates for Star Wars weekends for 2016? Thinking about planning a mini-trip to coincide with Star Wars weekends next year. Thank you.

    Hey Jennifer-

    Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Ok, I know, you don’t have to be shy about it. I did too. We all cried a little when we saw Han Solo and Chewbacca at the end of the trailer for Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens. Star Wars Weekends are entering hyperspace mode next year after the December release of the movie. I can’t wait to attend my 7th trip to Disney’s Hollywood Studios to experience the magic.

    I asked Yoda about this and he responded with, “Attend Star Wars Weekend, you want? 2016 dates, you need?” Classic Yoda.

    Dates for Star Wars Weekends have historically been released in December of the year before so no dates are available for 2016 yet. Typically you will find the first Star Wars Weekend the weekend before Memorial Day and extending three to four weekends after till early/mid-June. There are usually four weekends but the past couple of years due to intense popularity they have added an additional weekend for a total of five. Four or five chances to blast off in your Millennium Falcon into a galaxy far, far away! My advice: practice reading Aurebesh and speaking Jawa now to be prepared.
