Hey Howdy Hey Mike and welcome to planDisney!
I am so excited to see that you will be visiting the Most Magical Place on Earth later this fall! There is so much that is happening right now, but in the fall, that has to be one of the better times to visit! Thank you for your question on saving for your trip, let's go over some options that might address your question.
Now, I don't know if you are asking specifically about the Disney vacation savings account, which was like a savings account you could use for your vacation, or if I am just old enough, remember that product and assume that is what you are after!! This vacation savings account Disney did offer is no longer available. You are free to make payments toward your vacation package but Disney no longer has a product that allows you to open up a savings account for your vacation through Disney.
If you are looking for a way to save a bit on your upcoming trip, I would recommend keeping an eye out on the
Special Offers page. From time to time, Disney will release various discounts that may apply to your vacation. If you do see an offer that fits the bill, you can log onto your
My Disney Experience account and see if you can apply this to your vacation. What you would do, after you log on, scroll to the "My Plans, Reservations and Tickets" section and click on the "Change/Modify Reservation". You will have the opportunity to go through almost like you are booking your trip again, plug in the same resort and dates but when you see your resort pop up, as you scroll down, you should see some options. Before you hit the room details, you should see several options with a bubble to click such as "Room-Only", "Package" or "Special Offer". If you click on the "Special Offer" this will bring up the rooms available and pricing for your vacation at a new rate. If you wanted, you can also
call Disney and speak with a Cast Member that will be happy to help you get this Special Offer applied to your vacation as well.
I am sure if you do a quick internet search for "vacation savings accounts", you will find many banks that may offer a product such as this not specific to Disney. These may be appropriate options for you, just make sure to check on the details of things such as the minimum balance or any specifics on withdrawals as these may be different than a traditional savings account.
Several options there for you and I hope they address your situation. Please feel free to
reach out to me directly if you have any other questions or you can
reach out to our group. Either way, we are happy to help answer any questions you may have to make your trip that much more Magical!
Have a Magical Day!
