I have an disney account. Can I plan/pay for a vacation and then assign it to my sons name? Or does he have to make a disney.com account?

Hi Rebecca! Thanks so much for stopping by planDisney with your question. I’m so excited you’re diving into planning a Walt Disney World Resort vacation. That’s where the fun (and pixie dust!) really begins!

The short and happy answer is yes! You can absolutely plan and pay for your vacation under your own Disney account and then assign the reservation to your son later on. When you book a vacation package or Disney Resort hotel stay, you’ll be able to assign each Guest on the reservation to someone from your Family & Friends list. If your son doesn’t have a Disney account yet, no worries. You can create a managed profile for him right from your account and take care of all the planning details on his behalf.

That said, I definitely recommend he sets up his own Disney account before your trip. Once he has it, you can link up through Family & Friends, and all the plans you’ve made will magically sync right over. This comes in super handy once you’re on vacation because he’ll be able to access his theme park ticket, access any Lightning Lane selections, see any plans or dining reservations you’ve sprinkled in, and even browse all the PhotoPass photos captured during the trip!

I hope this helps, Rebecca! If you need any additional help setting up his account, don’t hesitate to stop by again, and we’ll be happy to walk you through the process.
