Welcome to planDisney, Chris!
Gawrsh! Your Walt Disney World Resort vacation is just a few dreams away. Have you entered the "too excited to sleep" zone yet?
I'm so glad to hEAR you've linked your party's tickets in My Disney Experience and
made park pass reservations. The
theme park availability calendar shows park days are filling up this month as folks answer the call to
The World's Most Magical Celebration. It was a smart choice to purchase the
Disney Genie+ service, which will give your party access to shorter wait times at over 40 attractions throughout the four theme parks via
Lightning Lane entrances.
It sounds like you are currently the one managing everyone in your party's plans under your My Disney Experience account. Please confirm this by taking a look at your
Family and Friends list. If every name on your list has "Plans managed by me" next to it, then those individuals are currently unable to book their own Genie+ Lightning Lane attractions. You can book Lightning Lane attractions for them, though this may become a cumbersome task if you wish to split up during your park days. For example, you might book a 9:00 a.m. Lightning Lane arrival window for two at Jungle Cruise and a 9:35 a.m. Lightning Lane arrival window for the other two at Peter Pan's Flight. You are able to book your next Lightning Lane attraction as soon as you tap into your first, but you won't be together to know exactly when that happens. Precious minutes will be lost trying to communicate with one another remotely and the Genie essentially gets unnecessarily put back in the lamp.
I recommend at least one other individual in your party over the age of 13 with an email address and a mobile device create a
My Disney Experience account and download the
My Disney Experience mobile app. The more the merrier, especially if you plan on breaking into different groups throughout your park days. Once they've created their accounts, go back into your Family and Friends list and click "Update" next to the far right of each person's name. Click "Share Planning with ___" and enter the email address associated with their new My Disney Experience account. When you click "Continue," that person will receive an email invitation asking them to join your Family and Friends list. Once this invitation is accepted, the plans and vacation entitlements you've entered for that individual will migrate to their new account.
Sharing plans with your party can also be done in the My Disney Experience mobile app by clicking the three small lines at the bottom right of the home screen --> scroll down to "My Profile" --> "Family and Friends List" --> Select a name --> "Send Email."
Back on your Family and Friends list, make sure "Yes, share my Family and Friends list" is selected so all members of your party can connect with each other, not just you. You can only book Lighting Lanes for members of your party that appear on your Family and Friends list. It will also be nice to have eyes on each other's Lightning Lane selections throughout the day so you can plan meet-ups and snack breaks. Did somebody say Mickey pretzel?!
Plan magic; planDisney.
