How does disney accommadate to those with disabilities? And what would you suggest a cruise or a disney resort with access to a theme park for a special needs child who is nonverbal and cannot walk but loves water and food and animals.

Greetings, and welcome to planDisney, Breanna!

Thank you so much for consulting planDisney with your excellent questions, and I can say with the utmost confidence that Walt Disney World Resort’s Services for Guests with Disabilities and Disney Cruise Line's Services for Guests with Disabilities strive to afford all Guests an inclusive and positively memorable visit – have a look through to see the various accommodations that you feel will benefit your son’s needs.

Did you know that you can combine a Disney Cruise Line sailing with a stay at Walt Disney World Resort with the infamous Disney Vacations by Land and Sea? Explore beloved and new experiences during your stay at a Disney Resorts Collection Hotel followed by a relaxing sailing on one of five ships in the fleet offering, even more, Disney magical experiences at sea! Many of your Disney pals will sail with you, isn’t that exciting?!

Disney Cruise Line just added a brand new ship to the fleet, the ever-enchanting Disney Wish offering Guests of all ages endless activities and entertainment, and you even get to spend an entire day at Disney Cruise Line’s private island, Disney Castaway Cay where Mickey Mouse & Friends will treat you to a beach BBQ, you’ll enjoy complimentary beach loungers, chairs and an umbrella and all the fun beach activities to enhance your visit, doesn’t that sound like a lot of fun?!

    Tips:
I recommend reading the report by our official Disney Parks Blog of Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge & Villas which will offer views of an active savanna right from your balcony Guest Room. When you’re ready to venture out, you can visit the nearby Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park mere minutes away with complimentary Walt Disney World® Bus Service!

When booking your Disney cruise, be sure to book Disney Cruise Line Ground Transportation from your Disney Resort Hotel to the Port – the motor coach will even transport you to the airport or even back to Walt Disney World Resort at the cruise end if you wish.

If you decide to visit Walt Disney World Resort, please remember to secure your Disney Park Pass – Theme Park Reservation for each day of your valid theme park admission for all in your travel party.

It was my pleasure assisting you, Breanna, good luck with your decision and please stop by for the best first-hand tips from our passionate and knowledgeable planDisney Panel!

    Best Disney Wishes!
