Another option available to U.S. Military Members, their families, and veterans is Shades of Green on Walt Disney World Resort. This resort offers spacious accommodations that are priced based upon military categories. While this resort is available year-round for active and retired U.S. Military and their families, all military veterans who received an honorable discharge have the opportunity to vacation at Shades of Green during January and September (subject to availability). As of January 2020, Purple Heart recipients, former prisoners of war (POW), veterans with VA-documented service-connected disability rating, and Primary Caregivers of eligible veterans under the VA Program of Comprehensive Assistance for Family and Caregivers are authorized to stay at Shades of Green on Walt Disney World Resort as well as other AFRC Resorts.
