I dislocated my patella and I have other knee issues, I already ordered a scooter but I’m concerned about waiting in line to get on the rides. Do they have a handicap lane for myself and family. I can transfer in and out of the ride carts with help . Thank

Hi Celeste! Welcome to planDisney, and thank you so much for stopping by with your question!

I'm so glad you already planned ahead and ordered a scooter. That is going to make such a big difference in your comfort throughout the day, especially with a knee injury.

The good news is that Walt Disney World is designed to be very accessible, and if you are using a scooter, you will be able to go through the regular queue just like any other Guest. The lines themselves are built to accommodate mobility devices, so you won't need a separate "handicap lane" to access attractions.

For many rides, you will remain in your scooter all the way through the queue and then transfer into the ride vehicle when it's time to board. Since you mentioned you are able to transfer with assistance, you should be in great shape for most attractions. Cast Members are always nearby and more than happy to guide you through the boarding process if you need a little extra time or support.

There are also some attractions that allow you to stay in your scooter or provide a transfer device, and most shows and theaters will absolutely allow you to remain in your scooter for the entire experience. Each attraction is a little different, so if you ever feel unsure, you can always ask the Cast Member at the entrance and they will walk you through exactly what to expect before you get in line.

Celeste, my biggest piece of advice is to take things at your own pace, listen to your body, and don't hesitate to ask for help when you need it. Walt Disney World Cast Members are truly wonderful at making sure every Guest feels supported and included.

    Warm hugs,
