Welcome to planDisney, Moira! As a fellow Walt Disney World adventurer from the UK, I understand getting all your ducks in a row before arrival. Let's work through your three questions.
First, to dishes and utensils.
Standard rooms at Walt Disney World typically include essential items such as paper cups and plastic utensils. You'll also find a coffee maker and a mini-fridge. For more extensive dining needs, you may need to bring or purchase additional items. I highly recommend bringing refillable water bottles or purchasing a Refillable Resort Mug at your hotel. You can refill your mug at any Disney Resort Hotel Quick-Service location with coffee, tea, soft drinks, and more.
Florida’s warm climate can attract insects, including mosquitoes. It is a good idea to bring insect repellent. That said, I have thankfully never experienced many
mosquito issues in the evening while staying on Walt Disney World property.
Finally, in the US, the standard voltage is 120V. The plug types are A (two flat parallel pins) and B (two flat parallel pins and a grounding pin). You will need to bring a UK-to-US adapter. Look for an adapter that can handle 240V to 120V conversion if your devices are not dual voltage. Most Disney Resort hotel rooms also provide ample USB charging points (you can use your usual cables), which is great for charging phones and other small electronics.
I hope this information helps today, Moira. Please know that the Cast Members throughout Walt Disney World are as helpful as can be, so always feel free to reach out if you need anything whilst on your magical Disney adventure. In the meantime, feel free to pop back to
planDisney with any other questions.
