What discounts do you offer for families coming to celebrate the end of a cancer journey? My family is coming down as a “Cancercation” for my 19yr old daughter. She was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma in Jan and just completed her treatments this spring.

    Hi Stephanie!

As an oncology nurse by day, this question called to me, and I am here celebrating your daughter and virtually imagining her ringing that bell! Congratulations on completing this challenging journey; your family’s strength and resilience are truly inspiring.

While Disney doesn’t offer specific discounts for families celebrating the end of a cancer journey, there are many Special Offers available that you can take advantage of to make your trip magical. I highly recommend checking these offers often as they change frequently, and there are many amazing deals out there. Some of my favorite special offers are those that provide room discounts, which can make staying at one of the fabulous Disney Resorts Collection hotels more affordable. Currently, there is also a 4-Park Magic Ticket available at a deeply discounted rate, which could be a great way to experience all the parks.

If you are a Disney+ subscriber or a Chase Disney Visa holder, you might find exclusive discounts and offers available as well, so be sure to look into those options.

Once you get to the Walt Disney World Resort, there are some wonderful ways to celebrate your daughter’s triumph. First, head over to Guest Relations and pick up an "I'm Celebrating" pin. Have them write "I beat cancer" or "In remission" on the pin. Wearing this pin will let Cast Members and fellow guests know about your special celebration, and you might find a little extra magic coming your way throughout the day.

Plan a special dinner to mark the occasion. Let the host and/or server know that you are celebrating this incredible milestone. Some of my family's favorite dining spots include 'Ohana, Chef Mickey's, and Sanaa. These restaurants offer fantastic food and a festive atmosphere that can make your celebration even more memorable.

For an extra special touch, consider booking a special experience such as the Magic Kingdom Fireworks Dessert Parties: Seats and Sweets. This unique experience allows you to enjoy delicious desserts and beverages while watching the spectacular fireworks displays from a prime viewing location. It’s a wonderful way to cap off a day of celebration.

I am so excited for your family and the joy and magic that awaits you at Walt Disney World. Here’s to celebrating your daughter’s strength and the bright future ahead!
