Is there still a discount for veterans? We are planning on going on a family vacation in the future, and my father-in-law who’s going with us is a veteran.

    Hi Karyn!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Mine is a Military family too, so please thank your Father-in-law for his service to our country!

Currently, all specially priced U.S. Military promotional tickets and Disney Resort Hotel military rates are available to those who are currently serving or those who are fully retired. (Both those who 'hit their 20' or were medically retired.) Disney does require a non-expired Military ID to verify a service members duty status; basically if you can get on base or post with your current Mil ID then you qualify for the Disney Military discounts. (Shades of Green, the Military-exclusive Resort Hotel located across from Disney's Magic Kingdom Park, will be able to answer any specific questions should your Father-in-law not quite fit into a simple 'retired or not-retired' category.)

Should your Father-in-law not qualify for these offers as a fully retired veteran, there are still multiple Special Offers, Deals and Discounts your party can take advantage of. Everything from room-deals to specially priced resort hotel + ticket packages to the ever popular Free Dining Promotion. Keep checking back on this page as new promotions are announced often. Better yet, bookmark the Disney Parks Blog, and follow them across all of their social media pages to make sure that you find out about all of the new and now as soon as it's announced.

I hope this helped, Karyn, and I hope that we'll see your family soon at Walt Disney World Resort!
