Hi there, Britny! You're as welcome as can be here at planDisney!
It sounds like you're just getting started on planning a visit to
Walt Disney World Resort, and it would be my pleasure to help you have the most magical vacation ever! When planning a Walt Disney World Resort trip, purchasing your theme park tickets and deciding where to stay are two of the first things you'll want to get squared away, so let's chat a bit about those topics.
When you purchase your
theme park tickets, you will want to make sure that you link them to your
My Disney Experience account. Whether you purchase your tickets through the Walt Disney World website or from an outside source, it's easy to link them to your account. Open your
My Disney Experience mobile app and click on the three lines in the bottom-right corner of your screen. From there, you can select "Tickets and Passes." In the top-right corner of the Tickets and Passes screen, click on the plus sign and you should see "Link Tickets and Passes." Click on this and then select "Type ID." Under "Admission Media" you should be able to enter the ID Number from your theme park tickets to link them to your My Disney Experience account. Once your tickets are linked, you can assign them to each Guest in your travel party. If you run into any issues with linking your theme park tickets, feel free to
call the Help Center phone number for existing tickets.
I'm happy to tell you that there's no problem with booking a room-only
Disney Resorts Collection reservation if you already have your theme park tickets. Once you book your resort hotel reservation, you'll want to link that to your My Disney Experience account as well. You can use your My Disney Experience mobile app for this too. Simply follow the same directions for linking your theme park tickets, but when you get to "Type ID" you'll want to go to "Resort Reservation" instead of "Admission Media." To link your Disney resort hotel reservation, enter your confirmation number and the last name on the reservation.
If you need help deciding which Disney Resorts Collection hotel to call your home away from home, I recommend checking out our
planDisney Resort Hotels Pocket Guides. These are great resources to help you decide which resort hotel is right for you. If you have any questions about selecting a resort hotel or any other aspect of planning your Walt Disney World Resort vacation, please don't hesitate to ask. My fellow planDisney panelists and I are all ears!
See ya real soon!
