Can I get a discount on room rates if I have six room reservations?

    Hi Michelle,

Welcome to planDisney! It sounds like you've decided to take the lead in planning a big family vacation, and I love that! This year is a great time to visit the Disneyland parks as they celebrate their 70th Anniversary.

If you want to book 10 or more rooms, you should book your vacation through Disney Group Getaways. They may be able to offer additional deals for guests, though these vary and are subject to change. Since you’re booking 6 rooms, you can work with the Walt Disney Travel Company to help you with your reservations. You can reach both departments at (714) 956-6425, available from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily. While you could book your rooms on your own, I recommend using a Cast Member from the Walt Disney Travel Company because they can see all room types available. When you book the rooms yourself, you have to select rooms one at at time. You may run into a problem where you can not book the same room type. It would be a bibbidi bobbidi bummer if 5 of your rooms had a pool view and 1 had a view of the parking lot.

Disney is also mindful of budgeting and scheduling needs, so as of now, hotel rooms do not need to be paid in full upfront. I spoke with a friendly Cast Member who explained that when booking rooms, you will put down a deposit equal to the cost of the first night plus tax. The remaining balance is due when you check in. If you’re booking a vacation package (which includes rooms and park tickets), you will pay a $200 deposit, with the final payment due 30 days before check-in. This gives you some time to save as you go along. I’ve had the pleasure of staying at all three of the Disneyland Resort hotels, and I can tell you they are all fantastic. No matter which one you choose, Michelle, I am confident your family will enjoy your stay.

Michelle, I hope this information was helpful. Booking your hotel is the first big step in your vacation planning! Keep an eye out for any special deals or offers Disney may have for guests. If you have any other questions or need assistance with other aspects of your trip, feel free to write back to me or my fellow panelists, and we’d be happy to share our thoughts.

Best of luck with your planning!
