Greetings, Johan, and welcome to planDisney! Popcorn is one of my family's favorite snacks at the Disneyland Resort – we get it nearly every time we visit. My daughter even asks to get popcorn as we're leaving the park – just a little bit of magic for the trip home, I suppose! And of course, this
salty, buttery snack is even better when enjoyed from a souvenir popcorn bucket.
Over the years, the Disneyland Resort has released a variety of popcorn buckets, with different shapes, themes, and Character nods. While these buckets are fantastic keepsakes, they typically do not come with discounted or free popcorn refills at the Disneyland Resort. That said, there have been limited-time offers, usually for
Magic Key holders, in which a specific bucket came with discounted refills for a designated timeframe. Nothing like that has been announced for the coming months, but any updates would likely be shared on the
Disney Parks Blog and the
Disneyland account on Instagram.
The blog has a
fantastic article with a brief history of the popcorn buckets – did you know the first Character-inspired bucket was a Mickey Mouse Ghost that debuted in 2010? This article also highlights some of the new designs that will soon be brought to the parks. I have my eye on the Holiday Christmas Tree Truck Bucket – it's practically popping with holiday cheer!
If you're looking to try something new during your next visit, I have some popcorn suggestions for you, Johan. Freshly popped caramel popcorn is available at the cart on Buena Vista Street, and it's a delicious treat!
Cozy Cone Motel 5 in Cars Land also has a few fun flavors to choose from – I've even seen a pickle flavor there before. You can also grab some packaged popcorn in various flavors from multiple locations throughout the Resort.
Johan, I hope your next visit to the Disneyland Resort is filled with magical moments, laughter, and lots of popcorn! If you think of any other questions, just pop back to planDisney – we're always happy to help!
See ya real soon,
Kriss
