Is there a discount on points for DVC members on cruises for this year? I read that is was 35% discount on points for DVC? Also Can I borrow points from the next use year to use on a Disney cruise?

Hi there, Chrissie! Thanks so much for deciding to be our guest at planDisney. It's always a treat to meet a fellow Disney Vacation Club Member and I am happy to help with your vacation planning question today.

An adventure beyond the reef on Disney Cruise Line sounds like a dream vacation to me! I've sailed on DCL on several occasions and I am always blown away by the attention to detail, the Broadway-caliber entertainment (our family loves a musical!), the amazing food, and the extra pixie dust that makes these voyages magical in a way that only Disney can. As a Disney Vacation Club Member, you'll enjoy VIP treatment throughout your cruise, including a special Member reception, merchandise discounts, and some fun gifts available at the DVC desk on every voyage.

I spoke to Member Services about your question, Chrissie. They let me know that there was a promotion for Member discounts on DCL sailings that was available several months ago, but that it is no longer in effect. I suggest keeping an eye on the Offers & Benefits section of the DVC website in case another promotion is released in the future.

I'm happy to report that you can borrow Vacation Points to use for sailings on Disney Cruise Line. To determine the perfect itinerary for your aquatic adventures, check out the Points Charts, which show the points needed for each specific DCL itinerary and ship. The number listed is what's needed for one guest in a double occupancy cabin. Guest #2 requires the same number of points and at the bottom of the charts you can see the points needed for additional Guests.

To make your reservation, contact the helpful crew at Member Services. They will be able to navigate borrowing Vacation Points, and exchange your Vacation Points for Reservation Points. Keep in mind that there is a one-time, non-refundable fee that applies for exchanges (currently $95, subject to change).

Chrissie, I hope your vacation planning will be smooth sailing! Thanks again for floating on over to planDisney--we're here to help with any other questions any time.
