Is there a discount for civilian federal employees?

    Hi Dixie!

Thank you for sending in your question to the Walt Disney World Moms Panel!

I work for NASA and fall in that same category.  There are no discounts from Disney directly at Walt Disney World for civilian federal employees.  However, at least here in the Washington, DC area federal employees can usually get discounted tickets to Walt Disney World at their federal agencies.  I work with 4 federal agencies on a regular basis and I know 3 out of the 4 do offer discounted tickets, but it is not a huge discount.

In terms of lodging, the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin sometimes offer a pretty good discount to federal employees.  Both hotels are located on Crescent Lake between Epcot and Disney's Hollywood Studios.  They both participate in Extra Magic Hours and you use Disney transportation to get to them and the parks.  However, guests staying there do not have access to Disney's Magical Express transportation to and from Orlando International Airport.

I'm sorry I don't have a better answer for you, but please write back with more questions!
