Hi there, Ashley, and welcome to planDisney!
First things first, congratulations! Whatever you plan to share with your family and friends is so special. I love that you’d like the help of your favorite characters as well. I’m getting teary-eyed thinking about how many amazing moments you have ahead—both at Disney and back at home.
As I’m answering your questions, I’m walking through the photo sharing process myself. You absolutely can change settings on your
Family & Friends List on your MyDisney account. Visit the Walt Disney World Resort website and select “My Disney Experience” and then “My Family & Friends.” Click on “Settings” next to the Mouseketeers in your crew that you’d like to keep the temporary secret from. There, you can toggle plans- and photo-viewing options. So, your family and friends can remain linked, but they won’t see your
Disney PhotoPass photos. You’ll need to do this for every member individually.
AN EXTRA GEM: Consider getting a complimentary celebration button as well to commemorate the occasion. You can pick up a button at most gift shops and at various areas near the front of each theme park. If you want to jazz up your button even more with colors and designs, head over to
Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe at Magic Kingdom Park or
Disney’s Days of Christmas at Disney Springs.
I hope that this helps you with your big surprise, Ashley! If you have any other questions about how to make the most out of your Walt Disney World adventures, revisit us here at planDisney.
I’m all ears! Magic always,
LeAndra
