I was so disappointed when I found out there are blackout dates for the free dining plan that is offered during our first trip to WDW. Why are there blackout dates and what are the chances that we will get any other discount offers?

    Hi Jill,

Special promotions (like free dining) typically only cover dates of anticipated low attendance in the Disney theme parks.  They are most frequently extended during the months that American school children are back in the classroom.  Holidays and weekends are often excluded for promotional offers because there is no particular need to offer incentives at those times.

We never know with any certainty if new offers will be extended so I highly recommend that you check the Special Offers page frequently to see if any promotions that apply to your dates of travel have been added.  I'll keep my fingers crossed that you'll find an offer that works for your family.

Thanks, Jill, for posting your question to the Moms Panel.  If there's anything else we can do for you as you plan your first trip to Walt Disney World, don't hesitate to ask!  We'd love to suggest ways to make your vacation extra magical.
