I am disappointed to see that my daughter (6 yrs old) is too young to go on a horse trail ride on a horse and she's too tall to go on a pony ride at FWilderness. This is one of the things she REALLY wanted to do on our vacation. Am I missing something?

There are two opportunities to enjoy a horse ride at Walt Disney World.  The trail rides do have a minimum age of 9 years and height minimum of 48 inches tall.  The other option is the pony rides at Fort Wilderness and that weight limit is 80 pounds for children 2-8 years of age.

If she is not eligible for these opportunities make sure she visits the stables in Fort Wilderness where all the great draft horses and Cinderellas horses are stabled.  She can also perhaps enjoy the petting area where she can get up close to many friendly animals.

I hope you find she is able to do at least the pony ride opportunity but please have her understand the requirements are put in place for the safety of the guests as well as the horses.
