I am 100% disabled veteran who was planning a trip with family and friends for October 2026, however my health is not allowing me on this trip. I am able to visit my local base and purchase the tickets at the MWR, can they enter without me?

Hi Mike! I’m so happy you found us here at planDisney. First and foremost, thank you for your service to our country. I’m sorry to hear your health will keep you from visiting Walt Disney World Resort with your family this year. While I wish you could join them and enjoy the magic by their side, I’m here to help make sure your family can still have a wonderful visit.

Disney offers two different types of military discount tickets. My first question is if you have a spouse who holds a valid military ID and will be visiting Walt Disney World for this vacation. If so, your spouse is eligible to purchase and activate up to six Disney Military Salute tickets. These are available as 4-Day, 5-Day, or 6-Day tickets with the Park Hopper or Park Hopper Plus option. Included with this offer is also the Disney Celebrates America Military Salute ticket. This ticket gives unlimited visits to all four Walt Disney World theme parks from January 1 through December 18, 2026, with the exception of one remaining blackout period from November 22 through November 28, 2026. Both the Disney Military Salute tickets and the Disney Celebrates America tickets can be purchased at your local military base (tax-free) or a Walt Disney World ticket window (where taxes apply). Your spouse would need to present a valid military ID to activate the tickets at a Walt Disney World window upon arrival if they are purchased at your local base or to purchase them in person at Walt Disney World.

If a spouse will not be traveling on this vacation, your next option is standard military discounted tickets rather than the promotional tickets described above. While they are not as deeply discounted as the Disney Military Salute ticket offers, the benefits of these tickets are that there is no limit to the number you can purchase and they do not need to be activated at Walt Disney World. Therefore, you could purchase them at your local military base, and then your family can use them at Walt Disney World with no further action required upon arrival. These tickets can be 1- to 10-day tickets and are about 10%-20% off regular admission, based upon the dates and number of days you purchase.

I also want to share with you that there is a special military rate for Memory Maker, which is nearly half off the standard price. Memory Maker will allow your family to download all of their Disney PhotoPass photos and videos from their vacation to share with you with they return home. If you have a spouse traveling on the vacation, they can purchase Memory Maker at this special rate by visiting a Walt Disney World ticket window and presenting a valid military ID.

Mike, I’m sending you wishes for healing and magical days ahead. If you have any more questions, please come back and see me. I’m always here to help and love creating magic for military families.

    With a salute from Mickey,
    Casey
