Hello there, Russell!
Welcome to planDisney, and thank you for your service. My husband has your same disabled veteran status, so you’ve got just the gal to get your family’s trip planning in motion. Russell, let’s get right into what’s available to you.
Military members who are on active duty, reservists, retired, or have a 100% disability rating as a veteran qualify for
discounted tickets and Resort hotel stays at Disney World. Depending on the length of your upcoming vacation, you may not need to purchase the multi-day theme park tickets options exclusively for veterans. But if your tickets aren’t linked to your My Disney Experience account, double check your lifetime passes’ values at a theme park’s ticket window, Guest Relations, or the
Disney Ticket Center at Disney Springs.
You’ll want to check out what the current deals are for the official Disney World Resort hotels on the
U.S. Military Members offers webpage. Eligible veterans can book their discounted Disney World Resort hotel stays with a Disney Cast Member via the following number: 407-939-7830. You can also visit a U.S. military base closest to you or directly contact
Shades of Green Resort, an AFRC near Magic Kingdom. I’ve yet to stay at Shades of Green, but the hotel and grounds are absolutely beautiful.
AN EXTRA GEM: When you arrive at Disney World, take advantage of
Memory Maker’s lowered price. It’s a super convenient way to capture your memories with PhotoPass throughout your vacation. For eligible veterans, you can get this high-value, low-cost add-on by visiting a ticket window or Guest Relations. The discount is nearly half the cost of its regular cost. You can download your photos and videos using the
My Disney Experience app.
Russell, I’m wishing on a star that your family has a wonderful Disney World adventure later this year. As you continue your vacation planning,
revisit us here at planDisney to get tips and tricks from panelists. See you real soon!
Magic always,
LeAndra
