I am a disabled vet, with a handicap placard Is parking free at the theme parks if I present my placard Upon entering the parking lot.

    Hi Kim!

Thank you for stopping by the planDisney Panel with this great question! My mom is disabled and has a handicap placard, so I am very familiar with this topic and happy to assist you. In Florida, when you have the handicap placard you can park for free at metered parking (for up to four hours) but for private parking garages or facilities, you are still required to pay the parking fee. At the theme parks, the parking fee is charged unless you are staying at a Disney Resort Hotel or are an Annual Passholder). If you are staying at a Disney Resort Hotel, the parking fee for overnight parking is waived when you present your handicap placard along with a government issued ID. For more information on the parking fees, please visit this site: Parking. Just to ensure that the information hasn't changed since I last visited with my mom, I contacted Disability Services and confirmed the details.

Kim, for further information about other available services for Guests with disabilities, please contact Disability Services at (407) 560-2547 or email disability.services@disneyparks.com.

Quick Tip: Be sure to download the My Disney Experience App on your smart phone before your trip! Here you can see wait times for attractions and this is where you can place a mobile order for many of the fast food kiosks!

Hope this helps! It has been a pleasure assisting you Kim. Please feel free to send me any other questions you may have!
