I am disabled and know that I will need a scooter. I’m not thrilled with having to get on and off shuttles with a scooter, not sure I want to rent one off site. But am nervous that there wIll not be one available at the park. Chances of park being out?

    Hiya, Karen!

Welcome to planDisney, friend. I am so very glad that you stopped by with your planning question. I am sure you have lots of planning to do for your upcoming adventure, so let's go through ECV rental options so you can check this process off of your magical to-do list!

There is so much to consider when planning out your day at a Walt Disney World Resort theme park. And knowing the best options for getting around comfortably is a high priority. Guests who rent an ECV in the theme parks can use the ECV throughout their day, and if they need to leave the park for a break or midday resort hotel meal, the ECV will be held for them until they return. You cannot take the ECV from the destination it was rented from, and they are rented on a first come first serve basis. So, if you prefer not to take the ECV with you on Disney transportation, this is a great rental option for you! Because they are rented on a first come first serve basis, there is always a chance that the ECVs could be fully rented when you arrive. My pro tip would be to arrive at the park for rope drop (or just before the park opens) and make this your first stop.

December is a wonderful and sometimes busy time to visit Walt Disney World Resort. If you prefer to have a guaranteed ECV for use during your stay, you may want to consider Walt Disney World Resorts' featured provider, Scooter Bug. This private rental company can deliver your ECV to your Walt Disney World Resort hotel and even leave it with Bell Services if it arrives ahead of your magical stay. This rental option will give you more flexibility but would require you to take the ECV with you on your preferred transportation modes. I understand this may not be ideal based on your inquiry, but I want to assure you that Cast Members are wonderful, and they are well trained to assist you with all transportation options while using an ECV!

As you continue making your travel plans, don't forget to make your Park Pass reservations. All four theme parks require a reservation in addition to a valid theme park ticket. December dates sometimes offer limited availability due to popularity, so making those reservations now is a great way to ensure you can visit all your must-see parks during your stay.

I hope that your upcoming adventure is memorable and magical!
    We'll see ya real soon!
