Hi! I am disabled but don’t qualify for DAS so I hoped to bring a purse that doubles as a stool in case I get a flair up and need to sit down. I’m aware that you don’t allow folding chairs but do allow mobility aids that can be sat on. Which would this be?

    Hi Hannah!

I'm so happy to see a fellow East Coaster heading to the Happiest Place on Earth. I just returned from the Disneyland Resort yesterday, and let me tell you, it is such a great time to be in the parks. The happy haunts of Halloween are starting to make their appearance just in time for the seasonal festivities to kick off on August 22nd! You are going to love being there for the fall fun!

Disneyland is committed to making the magic as accessible as possible for all Guests. While collapsible and folding chairs are not permitted, there are a few devices that are allowed to assist Guests, such as canes, cane chairs, and seat walker mobility aids. I hope that you will find one of these useful while you are in the parks to make your visit as comfortable as it is magical! Additionally, there are some mobility devices available for rent, both wheelchairs and ECVs, at the Stroller Shop just outside of the entrance to Disneyland Park in the Main Entrance Esplanade. These are available on a first-come, first-served basis, so I would recommend heading to the Stroller Shop earlier in the day to secure one.

If you run into any issues or have questions while you are in the parks, you can always head to the Accessibility Services Kiosk, also in the Main Entrance Esplanade. They will be able to help you and guide you to resources available that may make your visit more comfortable.

With Halloween in full swing by this time next week, I'm going to recommend a few to-dos ahead of your trip so you don't miss a single magical moment. The first is to check out the Disney Parks Blog Guide to Halloween at Disneyland. This will give you a good lay of the land so you can earmark some must-do and must-see experiences. While you are on the blog, check out the Disneyland Halloween Time Foodie Guide, which will give you a rundown of all the seasonal sweets and treats available for a limited time. Finally, take your earmarked list and check the Entertainment Schedule to find out when shows and performances are happening. I know I'd want to make time for the Mickey and Friends Halloween Cavalcade during the day and the Halloween Screams Projections that evening! Note that there are no fireworks schedules for that evening, but you won't want to miss a spin through the iconic Haunted Mansion Holiday!

Hannah, I sure hope this has been helpful! If you have any more questions, we are always here for our fellow Guests here at planDisney

    Magic and happy haunts await!
