Hello.2 disabled adults who rent ecvs. Love POP but I need a monorail hotel this time, my aunt turns 78 today and she wants to go WDW one more time. If we get the Garden room, how hard is it to get up to the monorail? (Elevator/Ramps/Steps?) Thank you

Hi there, Deborah! Welcome to planDisney!

I'm so happy to hear that you're planning a vacation to Walt Disney World Resort! The only thing better than a trip to The Most Magical Place on Earth is visiting with someone you care about. Your aunt is so lucky to have you to make these magical moments together! Like my pal Olaf says, "Some people are worth melting for."

The monorail resorts (Disney's Contemporary Resort, Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, and Disney's Polynesian Village Resort) are wonderful places to call "home" during your trip. They all have immersive theming, impressive dining, and are in quick access to the monorail! Deborah, after speaking with a Cast Member, they assured me that there will be an accessibility ramp to get up to the monorail. This will be just right for your aunt, who will be utilizing an ECV. Additionally, the Garden Wing of Disney's Contemporary Resort can be accessed by a covered walkway on the main level. Of course, if you run into any issues, you can always talk to a friendly Cast Member at the front desk of your resort! They'll be happy to hear your situation and provide you with the best possible steps that are available.

In my experience, Walt Disney World Resort goes above and beyond to make sure that all Guests have access to everything that the parks have to offer. When I visited last year with my parents, my mom also used an ECV and she had the best time without any accessibility issues! She also found the Cast Members to be exceptional with any questions or assistance needed. With that being said, I'd recommend taking a moment to check out the services for Guests with mobility disabilities. This will help to make sure that your aunt doesn't miss a minute of the magic!

I hope I was able to point you in the right direction, Deborah! If you have any other questions, please write to us again. After all, you've got a friend in me!

Sending you faith, trust, and pixie dust,
    Michelle
