Hello Maureen!
Welcome to planDisney! Getting registered for the
Disability Access Service (DAS) is very straightforward and ideally should be completed before you arrive.
Good news Maureen, you are in the window to pre-register for DAS! Before you click to the
live video chat you must make sure you have logged into your
myDisney account. You also need your grandson with you during the meeting. If you are not the parent or guardian of your grandson then you will need them to be present as well. If your grandson is 18 years of age or older then they may have to be involved in the conversation. In addition, the video chat must be on a device that has a camera. The video chat availability begins at 7 am and ends at 10 pm EST. I suggest logging in first thing in the morning as the wait times can be long and my friends have had success at this time. The Cast Member will assist in not just discussing DAS but the
many other services that could help your grandson have a magical time.
One of the best things I use to help with my kids and their difficulty with food is
Mobile Food & Beverage Ordering. I like to look over a menu with the kids while waiting in a queue or anywhere, calmly read the descriptions, and look at the pictures together to make our meal decisions. I then check out and head to the restaurant when my time comes up to have it prepared and ready to be enjoyed. However, I do not recommend Mobile Food & Beverage Ordering for people with food allergies, as it is always best to speak with a Cast Member at the register when ordering to ensure it is prepared safely. It may take a bit more time but it's worth it.
I hope this helps and you have a lovely time with your grandson!
Happy Planning!
