Hi Abby! DAS is a wonderful program and can be incredibly helpful if you have a disability that prevents you from waiting in line for extended periods of time. We utilize the DAS system regularly with my family and it makes navigating the theme parks much easier for us.
The important thing to know about utilizing
Disability Access Services is that it is only available for disabilities that make it hard for you to wait in line for an extended period of time. This does not include utilizing a wheelchair or mobility issues that can be solved by using a wheelchair as all of Disney World's ride lines are wheelchair accessible. For a full list of mobility accommodations check out Disney's services for
guests with mobility disabilities. If you have questions or concerns about if you will qualify, I recommend doing the
video chat ahead of your arrival. It is available up to 30 days before your trip. They can confirm for you that you qualify and get everything set up for you ahead of time. Before your chat make sure that the person with the disability is present even if it is a child. You will not need to provide documentation, but you will need to explain why the disability makes it difficult to wait in line for an extended period of time.
DAS is not a pass to skip the line. You will check in for each ride and simply be able to wait elsewhere. All check ins are done on the
My Disney Experience app so you don't need to run from place to place. My family likes to utilize this time to sit down for a drink and cool down in the shade.
Happy Planning
