Hey there Lisa, and welcome to planDisney!
I love taking any opportunity that I can get to take advantage of taking a trip on the water, even when it comes to the short jaunts between Disney Resort Hotels here in Orlando. It sounds like you're looking to make a quick Halloween-time hop between
Disney's Wilderness Lodge and
The Campsites at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort, which is something we loved to do during our most recent stay in order to tuck into some delicious skillets at
Whispering Canyon Cafe or pick up some
fried chicken from Trail's End Restaurant.
You'll be happy to hear that as of last autumn, the
Blue Flag Launch or blue route on complimentary Disney water transportation has resumed operations after being unavailable for quite some time. These special water taxis have a distinct, bright blue flag on their bow and operate on alternating circuits within Bay Lake that pass by Discovery Island and connect with
Disney's Contemporary Resort, so be sure to check with the captain of each vessel before you embark just to make sure you know which direction it's headed.
If for any reason boat transportation may be unavailable, the Cast Members will often redirect guests to waiting buses instead but at the current time it doesn't look like this route should be affected by anything during your stay. Be sure to check out some of our
planDisney Tips and Tricks all about Walt Disney World Resort Transportation, and stay tuned for the upcoming Halfway to Halloween announcements on the
Disney Parks Blog that could include some of the fun festivities that Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort is known for!
Here's to having a wonderful (and hopefully neither wet nor wild) boat ride in the wilderness!
