Hi Janelle and welcome to planDisney!
I can't wait for the
Disney Dining Plan to return. We would add the plan to almost every Walt Disney World vacation we took when it was offered in the past, so I was really excited to see the
Disney Parks Blog announcement about it coming back.
Dining at Disney is one of my favorite things to do. There are so many fantastic restaurants to pick from and having the Disney Dining Plan makes it flexible to eat at all of the best ones. We usually choose character dining experiences like
Chef Mickey's at Disney's Contemporary Resort and all-you-care-to-enjoy restaurants like
'Ohana at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort to make the most out of our plan. The general rule of thumb is that you can take your leftovers home from any restaurant that is à la carte, not buffet style, and we certainly have done that on many occasions to enjoy the rest back at our
Disney Resort hotel. My daughter loves to be able to snack on the Pao de Queijo, Brazilian cheese bread, at
Jungle Navigation Co. LTD Skipper Canteen in
Magic Kingdom Park. It's her absolute favorite so we always take some to-go.
Dining reservations for Table-Service restaurants open up 60 day in advance of your vacation, so have an idea of where you would like to dine during your visit. I find using the
My Disney Experience Mobile App the easiest way to make dining reservations, but they can be made on the Walt Disney World website or over the phone as well.
Please
stop back by and visit if you have any additional vacation planning questions.
Have a magical day!
Leslie
