How does the dinning pass work. We want to do a character dinning (with Goofy) and I see that it is on the dinning plan but how does payment work.

    Hi Jacinda,

I love the convenience of having the Disney Dining Plan for most of my family's vacations.  Not only does it save me money, it allows me to focus on making memories with my children instead of watching my budget.  I especially love the value of the Disney Dining Plan for Character dining.  In the previous link you can read all about the different types of Disney Dining Plans.

To use the Disney Dining Plan you simply present your MagicBand or Card to pay for your meals and snacks.  You should tell the servers prior to ordering that you have the Disney Dining Plan and they will scan your MagicBand or Card.  Your meals and snacks will be tracked electronically and you will receive a receipt that indicates how many meals and snacks you have remaining.  Gratuity is not included in the table-service meals unless otherwise noted.  Occasionally I purchase a few items not included on the Disney Dining Plan and simply pay separately for those things.

I hope this information helps with your dining plans!  Some dining locations are very popular so I recommend making Advanced Dining Reservations as soon as possible.  Currently you may begin making Advanced Dining Reservations up to 180 days in advance.  For table-service restaurants you will need to use your credit card to secure the reservation but will not be charged unless you do not show up for it.  You may use your Disney Dining Plan to pay for your meal at the restaurant.

Please let us know if you have any further questions, we are always happy to help!

    Blessings,
